It's in 9.8/10 condition IMO, with only a small ding on the face.
 
I'm asking $2,500.  I'm also looking for trades for fretted Alembics (+cash definitely possible). I would mostly like to get a Brown Bass (I'm starting to really love the smaller scales), but I would be open to other offers. Alembic or Fodera (not NYC) only please.
 
I love the sound of this one and it's a dream to play, but I play fretted in all of my groups and my preferred playing style is geared toward frets, so it isn't practical to own this one.

Wow, I just checked out the pics; that is gorgeous, one of the nicest Essences I've ever seen. Actually, I think I said that last time I saw pics.....

Beautiful bass.  What is the top?  That looks like a mahogany body... a stock Essence has a maple body doesn't it?

Spalted maple top, mahogany body and a thin layer of purpleheart in between.

mike1762 - only early Essences were all maple. They may have changed the recipe at the same time that they changed the body shape (there used to be a larger area of wood behind the tail piece).
