The bass played in this video (and used on the Ride The Lightning album) is for sale.
It has a PRE-Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray maple neck in fantastic shape and frets in good condition with original Shaller Tuners plus a hipshot drop D tuner. The body is mahogany. The pickups are EMG active pickups in a P/J configuration. It also has a Zeta bridge with piezo pickup. The electronics are 18 volts with full shielding in the cavity and are similar to an Alembic Series II setup, with the sweepable Q filters, cut boost knobs and 5 pin DIN plug out, though a 1/4 jack is also there and provides 100% capability, so you don't have to have the external power supply (though saves on the batteries if you have one). I never had the power supply but people sell them on ebay from time-to-time. You can switch numerous combinations of sounds between the piezo and magnetic pickups. It's the ultimate tone machine. The range of sounds is truly amazing. Hard shell Case included.

Now I get it. You guys are referring to Metallica. Sorry for the confusion, this bass is NOT connected to Cliff Burton in any way of which I'm aware.

I meant no disrespect at all! I guess there is a thunder group album called ride the lightning as well as metallica's . Mark is a great bass player and I'll say it here in front of everybody he's better than me. FYI I started playing bass because of Jason Newsted but over time I noticed that metallica wasn't very musical to me, but I have always been in love with the Alembics that Jason played. I'm not a fan of metallica anymore and haven't been for a long time but it'd be kinda cool to shake his hand and say, thanks someday. back to this bass... it's super cool and Mark has got Jason and Cliff beat.

It was kind of a funny question; how do you know your bass was used on your album.
-
Just curious, where'd you get the electronics at and what company are they made by?

The bass came to me this way. I do not know the origins of the electronics. But I have owned three Series instruments over the years, and this has the sound, only believe it or not, with perhaps a bit more flexibility because of the piezo in the bridge...
