Title: 1983 Distillate
Post by: bassthang on September 23, 2011, 04:20:26 AM
I hate to have to do this, but circumstances force it. And I haven't had this a year yet, and it's the finest bass I've owned, so I'm saddened to sell my 83 Distillate
serial: 83D2855
Zebrawood top.
Selector switch.
32 scale. standard features.
I'll try to get more detailed photos posted over the weekend, but there is one in the Showcase forum.
There is a repaired crack next to the output jack, but it is solid as a rock. No other issues. I replaced the bridge p/up because it was DOA, so the coloration doesn't quite match; Mica said it would take a little time for the new p/up to look like the older one.
Original case.
I live in DC metro area, and strongly prefer local sales, and I would drive a little to meet someone halfway.
$2250, plus shipping (CONUS only). I don't use paypal.

[I reserve the right to pull the ad if finances change]
Thanks,,,,!
Tommy

Wow Tommy -
That is a real nice bass.
I'm sure someone will pick it up.
Wish I had the bank - it would be great fun to start a Distillate collection.

Yet another victim of step-on-the-plug syndrome, eh? How bad is the damage under the washer?

Thanks guys.

Peter: I don't know. I've never taken it off to see. It happened before I bought it. I can tell you that crack was repaired by a pro, and is very solid.

Yes, Distillates are like that, they can be real sleepers as well  ; ___ in  various ways . I like the idea of a Series I in Distillate shape even better!   like  The one that Charles has !  nice __ maybe  just right  for many reasons.   I can see why the 83 in this thread would be tempting for sure  and it will make a nice daily player for someone.

I'm tempted to keep her.
But I'm not, so she's tempting you.

Yes indeed, I really dig my series distillate!
A great Christmas present from my loving wife! Now if she'll get me a 5 string series distillate! Hee hee!
