Ouch! I need to sell my Orion 5. Original owner, no issues, OHSC. Need the money and I just never seem to get off my 4-string. $1600 shipped to lower 48.(http://club.alembic.com/Images/395/33704.jpg)

Ouch indeed-  Lovely bass, I wish I had some extra money laying around.  If I had the cash, I'd take a run at this one-
 
I think the Orion shape is wonderful and I especially like it with the darker wood tops.

I love that shape too. Don't negate the ligher woods, I've seen a quilted maple one that looked fantastic and i think there was a spalted maple one as custom of the month that again looked incredible.  
 
It's one hell of a tempting opportunity. Saving grace is finance and I'm in England not in the lower 48.

I know it is no consolation, but if I had some spare cash I would buy your bass. Really nice lines and I love the dark wood.
