Another question is how many Alembicians are on Facebook? Personally I dig it more than MySpace and find it to be a bit quicker to load and use.

Graeme, about time. I just sent you a friend request.

Here (finally) are a couple of clips of our last but one gig at PJ molloys..
sweet child of mine (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=9pCn3aG8a74) - the sound cuts off near the end and the vid isn't quite sync'd up tothe recording from the Zoom H2 but you get the idea.
monster (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_SzyvbwA7tQ&feature=channel) again not quite sync'd up properly - both played on my Signature deluxe.
edit. fixed a broken link and added boys are back in town (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3mrVApL7jdA)

(http://club.alembic.com/Images/393/60097.jpg)Hey mike i like this pic!
-
Okay, I broke down today and registered on MySpace as well. my page is:
mikeaddyman (http://profile.myspace.com/mikeaddyman)
I put up 6 tunes, the first is Zen For Augie from 1977 with my Guild bass and my band Stamina. Everything else was recorded with my Alembics. Like A Child was my Distillate. The others were all Epics. Mr Unmentionable was the last original tune Pickled BEATS did before we gave up the ghost.
Enjoy or criticize at your pleasure...
Mike
-
I really like the Zen For Augie tune!!
-
Thanks Dave,
John Shifflett is the composer of that piece. He's a pro bass player and instructor out by the mothership. The sound quality is what you have to expect from 1976 technology (recorded live to Teac 4 track, then mixed to audio cassette). We had some fun in Iowa!

We just began our myspace page, there are only a couple of songs at the moment, more coming later.

I forgot that this was out there:
http://la.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=2110762 (http://la.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=2110762)
It is an old video collage of different songs. The quality is sketchy, the hair is shorter, the bass is the same. Dexter Bracket actually just got out of the studio and will have an official myspace presence with REALLY good quality songs on it soon
-
Kenn; I'm listening to your Playing in the Band. Very enjoyable!
-
Well it isn't myspace (yet) but the cd release is upcoming and the band's website is here:
Dexter Bracket (http://www.dexterbracket.com/)
I'm thrilled with the production quality, track 5 is my favorite, track 4 is a close second.
Please - give it a listen, download it (FREE!), burn it, send a copy to your mom! :-)
Click on the button to the right of the track title, do a 'save as' and change the extension from a .wsr to a .mp3 ~ enjoy

I love your sound Paul. I'm particularly liking the opening track 'come back girl' - has a good driving rhyth that appeals to me more than the ballads. I also like the fact that the reasoning behind each song is explained. Good work!

Thanks Graeme - the sound is of course due to the beautiful Alembic Distillate that I play. ;-)
Plus the producer is no slouch at his duties. (it is his thoughts that are on the explanations of each song)
Glad you like the opener, it was designed to grab the listeners attention right away. The disc on a whole has a variety of songs that hopefully doesn't get too redundant to the listener.

Hi, everybody!
I just put two pieces on my Myspace : http://www.myspace.com/christofg (http://www.myspace.com/christofg)
I recorded the first one at home, a little quickly, and the second one is played with one of my bands, Ompa Bompa ( http://www.myspace.com/ompabompa (http://www.myspace.com/ompabompa) )
Hope you'll enjoy them!!! :-)

That Freedom Jazz Dance was hot!
-
ditto what Dave said - that was smokin' hot.
Nice work Christophe!
-
Thank you, my friends! ;-)
I'm very honored!!! I'll try to put some other things soon!!!
I'm so glad and proud to own my Alembic, everyday is such a source oh happiness!!! Yohooooo!!!

We are MySpaced now.

It's plain-jane, but it exists. It should continue to improve over time.

Mica:
Will Alembic be twittering next? Why do I feel old?
Bill, tgo
-
Please don't twitter.
Instead, how about pix of the Alembic factory crew on the new myspace page?
-
Mica; if you are an owner or a fan of Alembic instruments you are welcome to join the Alembic Instrument Owners Group on MySpace. The URL is:

Eugene, Mica IS Alembic. Not sure if you realised that ;-)

I'm waiting with bated breath for the official Alembic Facebook page! ;)
I have a myspace page as well - check out my new avatar! (http://www.myspace.com/hieronymous target=_blank)
-
Jacko; I am (and was) keenly aware of Ms. Wickersham's role at Alembic.
8^P (and a BIG grin)
But I was curious how long it would take for someone to chime in on this nuance (4 minutes).
But seriously; I shall welcome her to the Mice Pace Group.

Psssst... I'm putting a pic of the day in the MySpace photo albums. It gives the page something to do for now. Hope you like it.
-
Even pic of the week would be good enough for me! Love that spalted beech Stanley Bass!
-
I know what you mean about that Spalted Beech bass. It's not only amazing looking, but it has a particularly powerful sound.
-
Well, we have made a personnell change in the band, new keys/singer and also added a female vocal, please have a listen to the new tunes down to and including Black Peter. All comments welcome. BTW, that is a slide guitar on Dire Wolf. Thanks everyone.

Great musical delivery, I like the slide playing on Dire Wolf. I first listened on JBL 4411 Control Monitors powered by an AB International Pro series 200 amplifier through a Mackie Board. DSL{6mbps) connection . I like all the tunes, but to my ears I would remix your panorama and adjust equalization and bring out the Bass a bit more in the highs and lower mid range and increase Bass amplitude. I also listened on other monitors including my killer 600 Watt Gauss Bi-amped setup and came to the same opinion. That is what it is , my opinion, I appreciate your music very much , thanks for sharing it! I would buy your CD .

Nice stuff Uncle! Funky!
Do you still have the Status or just the Alembics now?
-
Just the Alembics....
-
The Alembic myspace page has been updated (nearly) every work day with a Picture of the Day (http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=447960565&albumId=988012) (my attempt to give the page a reason to exist). These are kinda neat - if you haven't checked them out yet, please do so!
-
I just put up a new track from last Fridays Noah Gabriel gig, Rain or Shine. It's the last cut. Tiny bar - no PA reinforcenment for instruments, but a fun gig anyway. The link is in my ID.
