Post by: quadrogong on July 26, 2006, 12:58:06 PM
wanted: 4,5, or 6 string bass. Fretted. My budget is up to 1300.
I'm a dedicated, working bassist who's been drooling over these basses for half my life, looking for my DREAM BASS..

If in the NYC/NJ area, I will deliver payment in cash.

Keep an eye out for me guys, ok?.. if you see anything dreamy in my price range..le me know?

You're in the price range for a Spoiler or Persuader four string or an Epic in 4-6 strings.  Outside of that, you will need a miracle...

Make yourself an Alembic fund and start dropping money into it when you can.  If you can get your budget up a few hundred, you should be able to find a dream bass.

Good luck!

Look for my Epic 6 thread from a couple of weeks ago.  I think it's worth more than $1300 but have had others cut me a break on this site.  You'll have S&H too but all in it could be what you want.

I bought my first Essence for $1100 (no case), and my second for about $1350 (with G&G case).  These deals are out there, you just need to find them.  Neither of the Essences I bought came from Ebay.  The first was from www.conn-signmentmusic.com (http://www.conn-signmentmusic.com), and the next was from www.goodguysguitars.com (http://www.goodguysguitars.com).  I frequent these sites, and you might wish to do the same if you're looking for something in your price range. If I find anything myself, I'll let you know.

Best regards, and good luck!
