Title: Eden WT-800 amp
Post by: David Houck on January 01, 2006, 10:31:41 AM
Here (http://www.eden-electronics.com/products/amps/indiv/wt800.asp) is the Eden WT-800 site.  The model now listed on the site is the new B model, which mine is not.

Here (http://www.eden-electronics.com/info/manuals/pdf/WT800-600-500manual2003.pdf) is the owner's manual for the amp I'm selling.

This was my primary amp before I started using a preamp and power amp setup.  It's quite versatile.  A number of people here in our group use Eden amps.

You can buy this particular model new and currently on sale at Musicians Friend (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/search/detail/base_pid/485243?src=HC004).

Here (http://www.harmony-central.com/Bass/Data/Eden/WT_800_World_Tour_Head-1.html) are the Harmony Central reviews.

Reading through the reviews at Harmony Central and Musicians Friend, I noticed that they are all very positive except for a few reports about overheating.  So I thought about it, and I do remember that early on I had a problem at one gig where it would overheat and cut out for a few seconds and then come back on.  That gig was in a large room, and I think I was using four cabs.  It must have been after that when I started attaching a small fan to the back of the rack.  I don't remember ever having a problem after that, including many outdoor gigs in the summer.

I have not been following Ebay listings for WT-800's; and a quick glance at recent auctions shows a bit of a wide range.  But considering those listings together with those for WT-550's and considering the list price, I've got an idea of a reasonable price range.

I'm not in a hurry.  I am trying to cut down on the amount of music equipment in my house.

I also realize that this is not the best time of year to be selling stuff .

A note about email.  When emailing me, because of my poor memory, in some cases it can be helpful to include your Username so that I can remember who I'm talking to!
