Dave, I remember seeing your fretless posted a while back. I did not realize till now that it was still with you. I looks like a wonderful instrument. I can only imagine the beautiful tones that could emanate from this instrument.
-
Hi Wolf; thanks. Yes; she's a beautiful bass.
-
Gorgeous bass indeed Dave, good luck with the sale. I haven't seen one like this around.
-
Dave , is this instrument medium scale ?
-
Thanks Enzo!
Wolf; yes, it is 32 scale.
-
hey dave,
email sent!
-
if only she was a fiver.
Graeme
-
Dave, does she have side LEDs? dots?
Mike
-
Hi Mike; dots, no LEDs.
-
Do you still have this Bass for sale? Please email me off list price, accessories?, etc. Thanks.
-
Hi Michael; yes, this bass is still for sale. Email sent.
-
Shot in the dark but is this bass still for sale?
-
I have always been enthralled by the vibe of this bass.
-
Yes , I have as well.
-
Hopefully I get the chance to dig it's vibe to the fullest extent.
-
Hi Ken; yes it is still available. Email sent.
By the way, Mica sent me the build details:
MSBI-4 Series I 4-string bass
top: Rosewood
body: Mahogany
back: Rosewood
neck: Maple and Purpleheart
scale: 32 medium
fingerboard: Ebony
neck note: reinforced with graphite
peghead veneers: Rosewood
tuners: Schaller
I had not previously known that it has a graphite reinforced neck. Very cool!
In response to another emailed inquiry, I recently plugged it into my rig; and it sounded wonderful. So much so that there was the idea that this bass would be worth my deciding to focus on fretless. But then I remembered how I still need to focus all of my practice time on my six string. This bass will at some point make a wonderful voice for someone.
-
Dave, for some reason I did not receive the email. Please try again.
-
Ken; I sent it again a few minutes ago, but now I'm noticing that the email address in your club profile is not the same as the address on the email that I replied to, which I'm guessing is your work address. So if you haven't checked your work email, look there.
-
Very strong spam protection at work (administrator), it did not go through. I sent you a link. Check your mail.
-
Ok; now you should have it.
-
Dave, w/ the graphite reinforcements, does this bass still have dual truss rods???
I can't help but mention that every time I see this bass I think prime real estate for a mission control electronics upgrade.....
-
check your email again Dave
-
Hi Ken; I just got in, and yes, I have email!
Mike; yes, it does have dual truss rods, and they work as expected. And for a control layout, do you mean like this one (http://www.alembic.com/info/fc_knobfest2010.html)?
-
Hello there -- I've been interested in the right Alembic fretless bass for some time, and yours seems quite promising. Will you please email me the asking price? Beautiful instrument, indeed! ~Ryan
-
Hi Ryan; it appears that a sale is pending. If for some reason it isn't completed, I will email you.
-
Too bad for me. Thanks, and please do drop me a line if the deal falls through.
-
LOL, Dave.... That's not quite what I had in mind. I was thinking master vol, CVQs, and perhaps filter gains.
-
Here's one of my favorite layouts.
-
stunning.
-
Dave, just checking, but it sounds like the sale went through?
-
I heard that Dave taped up a box yesterday, so I'm pretty sure he found this bass a new home.
-
Yes Mica, this bass is currently on its way to me in Philly. Since my artist rep deal expired with Zon, a few more years ago than I care to think about, I have been looking for another high end bass to play and experiment with. This will be my very first Alembic. I'm jumping out of my skin waiting for it to land. Hopefully I will be hitting the stage with it on March 3rd. If I don't have some fun with it playing some Dead in Jamaica in February first. Thanks Dave!
-
Congratulations ! I have long admired this Bass as well .
-
Dave - Your post with the link to a pic of one of your favorite mission control layouts was my former bass! SN:75 241 It is now in the hands of another member on this forum. I sure do miss her, but know she is well loved. Truly a phenomenal intrument.
