Thanks Jorge

Cool!

Richard? Dick?
As in Dickey Betts?

Found a 2007 thread (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=1847) on the subject.

Vintage Guitar Magazine did a story on this guitar a couple of years ago. Apparently, the current owner was given the guitar by Dicky Betts. I wish I had friends like that
-
Paul - Yeah, Dickey Betts; there was a period in the 70s when he tried to rebrand himself as Richard (even got mentioned as such in a Charlie Daniels song.)

I don't know about Charlie Daniels but Richard is referred to by Molly Hatchet in Gator Country
Old Richard Betts will tell ya Lord he was born a Ramblin' Man.
Well he can ramble back to Georgia but I won't give a damn.

Quoth Charlie:
And all the people comin' form near and far
To hear Richard Betts playin' on that red guitar
The song was The South's Gonna Do It Again or something very close to that (it was a GF back then who was the CDB fan, not me, so I'm not sure - I only picked it up through absorption).
