I'm hoping to get one with clean pots, DI/ins/outs all functioning properly.

here's one at Guitar Ctr   They have a 30 day money back policy on used stuff and the shipping charge to a local store or your house is usually not a lot.   $499 is a good deal on this preamp - I would not mind getting one myself - but I'm almost in the doghouse as is.
