Hi folks, I'm posting this for a friend, I really wish I had the money to buy it myself as it's an amazing bass at an amazing price! As far as he knows it might be the only one or one of the very few that Alembic produced. It's called Inside-out as the usual Brown Bass wood recipe is Myrtle core and Walnut front and back laminations, while this one is exactly the opposite, it has a Walnut core and a flamed Myrtle top and back. It also has side amber and red (12th and 24th) LEDs as well as continuous wood back plates covers.
The electronic is the standard one for the Browns (I guess), Vol/Filter x2, pick up selector, LEDS on/off and mono/stereo (close to input jack).
The bass was built in '11, he bought it brand new last year from Bass Central for $7899, if you check, it's still listed as sold. Also you'll find details about neck size... There is a small ding on the very top of the headstock as you can see, boy that must have hurt as it happened!!! Asking price is $4200 shipped ConUS. PayPal OK but fee free. If you have questions I'll turn them to him and let you know. I had problems posting pictures so, with the help of our great moderator Dave, hopefully I'll be able to show this beautiful art work, so stay tuned.

Whoa!!! That was fast Dave. Thank you so much!
And thank you also to Flip for offering to do it, this is such a great forum!

Awesome! and you're welcome ;-)
The electronics package is called Anniversary - as close as you can get to Series I with an Activator setup
Must go to sleep now :-)

Found this old thread posted by Mica when the bass was all done. So this is basically 9 months old. Wow!

Torture is over, I decided to buy the bass myself
The only thing I have to get used to is the pick-up selector when I pop the G which is kind of in my way. Let's see what happens in the next month or 2.

Enzo,
You can replace the pointer knob with a round knurled knob. I had this done to my Series 1 as I was always cutting myself on the pointer knob on my BB when I got overly exuberant while slapping.

Go Enzo!!!!!!!!
Maybe we shall see Inside Out at the NEXT Chi-Town Gathering.

I've alway felt the sharp pointer knob should be sharp side down, away from hands. Try turning it 180 degrees.
-
Congrats!
As John mentioned, you can use an allen wrench to loosen the set screw on the knob, and then turn it 180 degrees so that the pointer points down instead of up. Be very careful to not let the screw fall out; it's very small and difficult to find when it hits the floor.

Congratulations Enzo!
-
Thank you guys, also for the suggestions, I will try to turn it the opposite way, geez that's so sharp!
I would love to bring it to a Chicago meeting but WHEN???
-
Way to go, congrats!
-
My only issue with turning the pointer down is the pointer now works in reverse (pointing at bridge is neck pickup, etc).

You're right Keith, but that's better than having your finger sliced
Until now I'm very impressed by the Electronic, now my Distillate is sounding very different. I love the short scale but I would have preferred the standard nut width, I think that's perfect.
Maybe I should start looking for a pointer body Series I to work out a trade, but it would be so hard to let this bundle of joy go.
