Ok I have an oxymoron for you. I would like to sell and instrument quickly for $10,000. I know it is a long shot but I thought I would give it a try. The reason for the quick sale is I found another bass that I would like to purchase and once it is gone I have no reason to sell have. I have be going back and forth on this idea and finally decided to give it a try. I have 2 instruments you can choose from each is priced at $10,000. I?m only interested in selling on and even selling one is very difficult however I have a bad case of GAS. First a 1980 Series II bass with a graphite neck, custom neck inlays, side LEDs and LEDs under the Star inlays at the 12th fret. Several years ago this bass was sent back to the mother ship for a refinish. The top and back wood is satinwood. The core is walnut, the body accent wood is nara and the neck laminate is vermillion. Second a 1980 Series II guitar with a graphite neck (I was told this is the only series II guitar with a graphite neck ? would need to confirm with Mica). This guitar is in phenomenal unrestored condition and comes with the original flight. On top of the series two electronics each pickup has a added boost switch (these came on the guitar originally from Alembic). The top and back wood is fiddle back maple. The core is mahogany, the body accent wood is purperheart and the neck laminate is purpleheart. Both come with a case, power supply (original or rack) and 5 pin cord. Again only looking for a fast sale ? once the other instrument is off the market so are these. If you are serious ? please email me with questions or additional pics. Attached are some pics taken from my cell phone.

Cool guitars! Thanks for posting the photos and good luck with your sale. Once things are settled I'd sure like to see the instrument that tempts you away from these beauties.
-
Wow, Loving both those! The guitar is certainly up my alley. If i had the money I would be VERY tempted! Best of luck!

I know this is a very old thread... but I would still like to know if you sold one of these two instruments? I have been looking for a small scale, small body Series II bass with graphite neck for a while.

My Gawd....

Love the inlays, the sun with both mother of pearl and abalone is cool, Saturn and Jupiter are nice too! :)

The 24th fret inlay on the bass caught my eye the other day when the necro-thread bumped. Of course the infinity symbol had already been done...
-
The wood choice, layout and execution on the 4 string is amazing. The carve on the guitar top is also very well done. Two of the nicest Alembics ever made.

I did sell the bass, I still have the guitar. I didn’t think I would ever sell that bass, but I did to purchase this bass.
-
Here is the pic. I actually had this bass for sale for a short period of time but decided to keep it.

Are you still asking for $10,000 for the guitar? Do you have additional photos?
-
Thanks for the reply. If that bass ever comes up for sale... :D

Mica should buy the guitar for the Alembic museum if it still is for sale.
-
jalevinemd - I haven’t given it thought in years. I will let you know if I decide to sell
