I JUST recently traded for this guy, but unfortunately the ergonomics are not suited for me. Explanation: the neck is simply too wide (1-7/8 at the nut and 2-3/4 at the 12th fret) and ironically the balance is a problem (my right hand naturally falls WAAAY too close to the bridge... thus the tension is chewing-up my fingers). $4,000 plus shipping. Mike:
What's the scale of your bass?

34: I have it set-up for DR HiBeams 120/100/80/60/40. The B is nice and firm. It really pains me to sell it, but it's just not a fit for me. I was afraid there might be a problem when I made the trade, but I convinced myself that I would acclimate to it. It's been a few weeks now and I just don't see that happening. I've actually been migrating back towards MusicMan StingRays. I grew-up playing Rays and they just feel more comfortable to me. I'm actually trying (or at least willing) to sell all but 1 of my Alembics (I'm definetely keeping my SC... neck-dive and all!!!).

That quilted maple top is incredibly detailed the close up actually looks like the quilting would be textured to the touch.
All the best with the sale.

Mike,
Would you be interested in a trade plus cash arrangement involving late '70s vintage StingRay and/or Sabre?
If so send me an email at martinjlm@icloud.com (mailto:martinjlm@icloud.com)

Thanks for the offer James, but I already have 5 Stingrays. My kids aren't going to know what to do with all these guitar/basses when I meet my untimely end, so I really need to thin the herd a bit :-)

This guy is headed back to his previous owner and my 4 string is coming back home to me. UPS and FedEx enjoyed this little experiment!!!
