Since I posted this on Talkbass, I thought it should also be posted here :-) The fretless duties have been taken over completely by the fiver, I find it hard to switch between the lined and unlined boards. So eventually the 4 string will be sold/traded or it will get frets and oval inlays installed. I will consider trading these two towards a Series I/II bass, no preference for scale length/number of strings etc. 2006 Custom fretless (Orion neck through)

(Upgraded to signature electronics) In the showcase: The Elan won't be for sale, the fretless can be taken out of my hands for $3000 + shipping or Eur 3000 incl personal delivery in Holland, Belgium Germany or Paris
-
Most likely the Fretless is gone, no worries: she will stay in the family :-)
I will take offers for the Elan now.
-
Most likely = most definitely, the fretless is in very good hands now.
Elan is on hold until next week.
-
Ok FC so now you are more close to the series1
-
Looks like it :-)
The Elan is available again, will sell for 1400 Euro.
Prefer local sale, will deliver personally when possible. (+/-300 KM radius from Friesland, Holland)
-
I think the Elan is gone now for real... And I also think I will be inducted in the hall of Series next week! :-) Looks like this one will be under my custody for (hopefully) a long time:

'79 Series I with Walnut top and back :-)
-
Nice Flip! I have been wondering what you were settling on. That is a beautifully bizarre looking walnut top. Almost looks spalted. Schweet!
-
That is dynamite FC! Hope it goes through.
-
Beautiful Series! Hope to see pictures of you with this bass soon!
-
Ah, basekees' old bass! I remember Mica confirmed it is indeed spalted walnut - nice score!
-
Nice one Flip! Looking forward to a Showcase thread with all details and nice shots!
-
Flip,
Spalted Walnut, sweet! didnt know that existed.
Nice score!
Pete

Thanks all!
Basekees old bass indeed, I think he sold it in 2010.
I tried to contact him (to ask about the bridgepickup) but no luck yet...
If all goes according to plan, there will be some new pics Thursday :-)
This one is from the archives:

Very nice Flip... And welcome to The Hall of Series. This bass is really gorgeous and should sounds surely great with this wood mix (and that Electronic, of course). What's the scale? Seems like a medium... Like my Spoiler that I regret to have sold for financing my S2 (even if 'Marylin' is incredible). Did you have the opportunity to play it prior to make it yours?
Best
Thomas

Marylin is incredible indeed! One of the best looking Series basses in the showcase imho.
This is a longscale, here are the details: http://club.alembic.com/Images/394/54701.html (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=5889)
Haven't been close to this bass yet, but I'm sure it's going to be awesome :-)

Donder En Bliksem with the Wall of Deaf , will be wonderful !
I am happy for you .
-
Congrats! Looking forward to hearing your comments about your new bass!
-
OMG!!!
One of the guitar players who also is extremely enthusiastic (like me) about the '83 Spoiler commented after playing 3 notes: Now this one is my favorite :-)
Bass looks like new and sound absolutely amazing. :-)
There's a slight hum issue, I will take a closer look tomorrow. All trimpots were maxed out, so it got a bit better after a quick Humcancelling Procedure
There is a ground wire attached to the bridge, not sure what's that about, we'll see tomorrow... :-)
Absolutely amazing bass, happy camper here.
Thanx all for the nice comments and special thanx to Pierre-Yves for making this possible!
Next to my first 'lembic:
