That bass has to be the pride of Nova Scotia. You must be sad to let it go, Bruce.

Yes but my son is heading back to college
The less the burden on him the better

Hey folks ! I suppose I should put the asking price on this bass
4700.00 is my asking price , Obo
-
i might be wrong but that neck seems to be a series II model one/ 7 stripes..?, makes it even more valuable, beautiful bass,
Peter
-
Thanks peter, I had mica help me the bass
I couldn't find the serial number and she was able to find the work card on it ,(thanks mica ) through the number son the electronics .
I did also notice that it had 7 stripes and thought it was not very common I havnt noticed it on many basses
-
Is that a crack on the neck in the last photo, or merely a reflection?
-
Reflection , would not sell a instrument with anything like that wrong with it , the bass is in beautiful shape !
There are no cracks or structural problems , it's never been abused or mistreated
-
Ok so I'm not getting to much interest in this great bass so let's reduce the price to 4200 dollars
-
Perhaps you should put the bass on eBay and see what the market will bear for your bass at this current time. I'm seriously thinking of doing this with my S II, a Brooklyn-made Steinberger (SN @634), Tobias pre-Gibson Signature SN 635, a couple of EB Gibson basses, and my Fender American Precision Deluxe. Plus I have three or four racks full of amps, crossovers, pre-amps, processors, etc, and tons of vintage speakers (Altec, Gauss, and JBL) and cabling of all sorts. I'm too old to keep this stuff around anymore, and eBay has a much bigger customer bass than the clubs Swap threads to sell your stuff to. Jjust watch the flakes and rip offs there, which is why I always give members first crack at what I am selling, and regardless of asking price, I am always prone to negotiate listed prices of most items. Good luck on your sale - Nice Bass! So you might get more than you wanted in the first place, especially if the beginning bid starts off low. Actions starting off lolw with no reserve seem to do much better than those starting mid to high range, and those with reserves set. The low starting bid get lots of people interested in the item, so they seriously think about owning it and tend to go higher because of all the consideration done over it, and no reserve means the item will sell, so more tend to stick around for the last of it and that is where the big money is usually bid, so . . .

So I've secured my sons funds , so I don't have to sell now but after looking at some of these basses I may be interested in a trade for a similar fretted bass any interest let me know thanks

Just a side note on my previous post - I received a couple of e-mails about the Steinberger. It is sold and paid for and shipping tomorrow. Just FYI to possibly save others a bit of time reading old threads.
