I ordered these two pickups from Alembic in 2014 and fitted them to my Stanley Clarke Signature Deluxe bass but have found I prefer the sweeter sound of the standard Alembic AXY pickups so I have put them back in the bass and these two are for sale. The Fatboy is just a Fatboy and the other pickup is an AXY with the pickup magnet and coil inside offset from centre so is closer to the neck end of the casing which gives warmer bottom end. They have hardly been in use and only seen a gig once since installation and are both in as new condition. I'm looking for ?200 GBP excluding shipping. PM me if you are interested.

Jazzyvee,
just wondering if you ever sold these pickups, and if not would you still consider doing so?
Thanks,
Rob

Hey Rob, i had thought about it recently but just the fatboy. I have an order in at the moment to upgrade from signature to anniversary electronics so will wait for that to arrive and do some comparrisons before making an ultimate decision.

OK, Jazzyvee, sounds good. I would be interested in the Fatboy if you decide to sell it after your comparison. I’m looking for a Fatboy to put in the bridge position of my fretless Spoiler. Thanks-Rob

i'd be curious to hear how this turned out if it ever comes to pass.

I am a HUGE fan of AXY FatBoys.
My Custom fretless 5-string has one in the bridge position, and that was my gateway. At some point, I will probably upgrade the neck pickup to match it. While waiting for her trip home to the Wizard's Workbench for new pickups and the RF Upgrade-Plus, my Series I wore a pair of Fatboys for almost a year. Those same 'meant-to-get-me-by' pickups are now installed in a fretless Distillate Custom, instantly expanding it's voice in the same way.
Others have said having both pickups as FatBoys is too much, and in all honesty, I can see how that might be for some. Works for me though.

I can see a three fatboy pickup fretless lined JACO style fretless .Perhaps .

are these sold?
-
Not for sale now. i have confirmation that my anniversary electronics are on the way and want to try them out again with this configuration.

I'd be interested in buying the pair if you do decide to sell them.
Please let me know if you consider selling them.
