I think we have a case of mistaken idenity.

Well, it sure ain't a Series, and that chunk of brass on the back is not what I would consider a continuous wood back plate... but the rest of it seems pretty accurate, and it's a nice piece of wood - yet it still seems a little expensive, given the market (as opposed to value). So what'd I miss?
(man, this new server is so much faster, i just know i'm going to regret something one of these days... funny how it saves me time, and in turn i'm more inclined to spend time responding on things i don't really know that much about.)

He's a little confused.
He had it up first with incorrect wood/inlay, etc.
I sent him the correct info & he pulled the first auction and ran a second with corrected info, but now calling it a Series 1. I emailed him again on this, but he hasn't corrected it yet.
It's a Stanley Clarke Deluxe with the Stinger Omega. It's in the Custom Archive.
I just went back & looked at his new auction, which now has pics of the back of the bass, as noted above - it's not the same bass!
I wonder if the auction's legit or is a case of account hijacking. The seller has an Apple City CA ph. # on his store's page - anyone local want to check it out? The seller calls himself Daniel (with a hotmail account). The ph. # is 760-947-9579. Hate to see someone get ripped off.

The bass also has two different headstock face laminates. Could be an optional feature. And yes, it is interesting how the omega stinger disappears when you look at the back side of the bass. Maybe a trick of the light.

Here are the custom archive pics (http://www.alembic.com/info/FC_duo.html) that Frank mentioned. The title of the ebay listing says that the bass IS NEW IN CASE. These seems unlikely.

Hey Guys
I am wondering if this is a legit sale. If I remember correctly at first not only did he have the wrong information he went on to tell about how he orders basses for Stanley Clarke. Obviously he doesn't know one Alembic from the other! I could be wrong but this one seems fishy to me.

It does, Rory, but the feedback and other items for sale don't fit with a scammer. Also, I would usually expect a scammy price to be on the low side to ensure a taker.
Buyer beware, I suppose...

Just looked and some pictures have been removed with the following update:
THERE WERE SOME RECENT CHANGES TO THE LISTING, THE NAME IN THE TITLE HAS BEEN CORRECTED AND TWO PICTURES WERE OF THE WRONG BASS, THIS HAS A CONTINOUS WOOD BACKPLATE
Looks like he's just confused about what he has to me.

I swung a deal for this bass & just picked it up.
It might as well be new in the case - still has the original strings (now changed) and nary a smudge on it. A work of art!
The seller turned out to be an upstanding guy, BTW.

Congrats Frank!!! It's a beautiful bass!
