Check out this guitar listed on eBay. Interestingly, the seller's profile lists the seller as located in the U.S. The listing says the guitar is in Roma, Italy and payment is to me made ITALIEN PAYMENT THROUGH BANK WIRE TRANSFER TO ROME, ITALY. And the icing on the cake: there is no logo! I'm thinking a Fernandes, perhaps? A fraud within a fraud!

Wouldn't surprise me if the account was hijacked as all of the sellers other adds are for motor vehicles and written in Italian.

If you look at the feeback history this seller was also dealing with music equipment in the past, mainly buying. Beeing a member of Ebay.com has not mean to live in the USA. I have also an account of Ebay.com because there was no German Ebay in 1998. And I got my Series 1 from Ebay in 1999. But of course internationel Ebaying is always risky.

I just changed my country of registration to the US from Canada . I have a US ship-to address, and do not require shipping out of the lower 48, but ebay recently started an auction setting that prohibits me from even bidding because I'm registered in a country to which the seller does not ship. At first I tried emailing sellers, guiding them through the permitted buyers process - then gave up & changed my country of registration to the USA.
I still live in Toronto, though.
