They have it billed as a Stanley model, as it has the body and scale length but it looks like it has Essence p/up's and controls. It is very beautiful though. www.bassnw.com (http://www.bassnw.com)

I don't think they should be calling that an Alembic Stanley Clarke 4 string Bass.
It simply isn't one, although I'm sure it's a great bass in it's own right.
Bass Central does a similar ordering thing, where they'll start with an Essence, then add everything - usually Europa electronics. IIRC, they call them Stanley Style basses. I had one a year ago - the serial number made it an Essence, but it had even less essence than this one at Bass NW.
Resellers on eBay and other sites often don't make the distinction between these and actual Stanley Clarke's as well. Caveat Emptor.
