This same bass was at American Guitar Botique for $2000.  The nick in the headstock is significant.

Since stock Essence basses don't come with inlays and since standard Alembic inlays are ovals, I'm guessing the dot inlays are not original.  Someone not too long ago mentioned yellow decal dot inlays.
