I'm pretty sure Hasadari is a Club member but since I'm not an eBay member I can't compare details.

Robert?

It's legit. Here is the link (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=14008) to his thread in the For Sale/Trace area.

ok...my bad.
problem is it's got the characteristics of a lot of the scam auctions i've been seeing lately. why the 1 day auction? that in itself is a huge red flag. didn't notice the paypal. at least he didn't say to contact him first and not use the ebay message system :-)
good luck selling your bass....

Hasadari (Bob) is a super-nice guy. I was seriously considering buying this bass, but ultimately decided to pass on it. He was extremely helpful in answering my MANY questions. I wish I could buy it just to help him out! It comes with a sweet vintage leather gig bag, too!

Tim,
I would guess there's no REAL problem with your vigillance. There's been far too many ebay scams in the recent past, and I am almost sure that everybody is rather glad that possibly fishy auctions are being reported. If it turns out to be okay: even better, there are enough folks watching out.
I myself am watching closely Alembic activities on ebay here in Europe, and reported almost twenty fraudulent auctions during the last three months... It's worth it !

Bob is a very conscientous guy. And I think this is a really nice Alembic. The ebay scammers hurt legitimate potential sellers as much as they hurt unsuspecting buyers. They also are really hurting eBay's business and a few high profile 'busts' and aggressive prosecutions that they assist in or initiate would go a long way toward correcting this difficulty. ...Bottom Line....Fraudulent sellers hurt everyone.

I'd get a confirmation from Bob before sending any money on this one. The pics in the ebay listing are the same as in the club thread - anyone could have copied them from this site. Also, Bob lists his home as NYC in the club profile while the ebay listing lists New Rochelle as the location. New Rochelle is a suburb of NYC, about 15 miles or so north.

Bill is exactly right.

I'm with series iii on this one. Looks like a nice bass, but the listing and detective work here gives one pause.
-
Actually, the bass is mine. I have offered it here in this forum for weeks with little to no response. I have an offeror (not from the Alembic Club) who permitted me a last try (of one day) at ebay as a last resort before my sale.
Thanks.

By the way, no problem and no offense taken. We all need to be vigilant.
