Post by: tbrannon on October 23, 2006, 04:00:35 PM: Whoever is selling this needs to be tarred and feathered for ruining such a wonderful piece of Kauri- I know it's not Alembic, but goodness gracious, what a mess.

Post by: mikedm on October 24, 2006, 01:03:04 PM: Salvador Dali inspired? Uh, here goes...other than the extra bits of metal, I sorta like it. The wood is beautiful, it's an imaginative execution of a functional tool.
My guess is that the wood probably existed close to this in it's natural state - think a cross section of a large knobby cypress root.

Would I buy it, nope. But I can appreciate it.
