They can and they do! There's lots of companies doing Wolf and Tiger-style guitars...including Warmoth.
-
they may be able to do it...but they can't make me play it!
-
I forgot about the Cripe-style ones as well. It appears Jerry-clone guitars are hot s**t business theses days.
-
They sure can . . . ask Henry J @ Gibson about trademarking a body shape . . . or actually, ask Paul Reed Smith ! !
But don't hold your breath waiting for a Warmoth body in cocobolo . . .

Jerrys guitar that the Tribute is modeled after was never an Alembic anyways. Wolf had its beginnings as an Alembic, but Rose and Tiger were Irwins.
-
Here we go again!
-
the original wolf is an alembic...
as prooved by early photos of the peghead....and the alembic logo
he worked for alembic, built it at alembic and jerry came down and bought it at alembic....
after that- who cares.. lol
lets not open a sore wound with susan on this holiday.... irwin knew what he did...
-
Yea, the Wolf had its start as an Alembic. My point was that the Tribute is made after a guitar that Irwin built for Jerry so there really isnt any difference between what Alembic and the other guys mentioned are doing.

From the Minarik site: Steve Helgeson of Moonstone Guitars runs the Minarik Guitars Custom Shop, and builds the entire Super Custom Series! Steve's Moonstone electric and acoustic instruments are among the finest to have been produced in the last thirty years. Fascinating to learn of his involvement with Minarik!
-
Billy; that is indeed interesting. Thanks!
-
I personally find the Miarik body designs some of the most hideous out there. They have an ad in this months Guitar World and I just couldn't believe what I was looking at. My sincerest apologies to anyone who owns an Inferno.
Regards,
Jonathan

Minarik obviously subscribes to the more is more school of guitar design! LOL
-
It didn't sell...not one bid...not even for the starting bid at dealer cost ($699).
-
I don't think I've see a single Minarik sell on ebay.
-
Aesthetics aside, they look like quality pieces, especially if they're built by Moonstone's chief luthier.
I'd have given him $700 for that thing...what can you get new that's not firewood for that price?
