Title: 5000$ for a 1986 short scale series I?

i saw a maple top short scale series I with non-original power supply for $5000 is that a bit high?  more like 3500-4000$?  it's in nice shape. and looks all original.  no pic sorry...

Seems high to me, but I've received 2 unsolicited offers for my 77 Series 1 short scale - both over $6k (declined them).
I'd never pay $5k, but then I wouldn't sell mine for that either!
Short scales tend to fetch more, simply because they come up less often. I know a mint mid-80s Series 2 short scale went used last year for $7500.

I think that is a bit pricey.  There is a lovely long scale series bass in the for sale section for $2700.00 or something like that.  That seems to be a more realistic price to me.  If that bass were a small standard, I would jump on it like a spider monkey.

I saw the advert also. It looks to be a good price for a large standard but like you I am looking for a small standard. This one here is just too high.
