Here's an interesting mystery The listing claims it's a 1984. The paperwork lists it as January 5, 1984 and the Serial # as 84E3017. Yet the picture of the actual serial number on the 24th fret sure looks like 83E3017 to me. Tis a puzzlement.

Call it human error.
I'd say it's an 84, but either the set-up man grabbed the wrong number when he stamped it and did not realize it or the instrument was stamped just before the end of the year, but the paperwork wasn't done until after the first & the person who wrote the paperwork did not notice the 83 number on the instrument.
