This one really makes me want to play guitar.  Beautiful instrument!  Decent price too. Bill, buy this one before I do something crazy.

I thought that too at first.  But after looking at it carefully, it is just the standard PF-5 electronics with the trim pots on the front.  Just as cool though!

It's all yours.  It does look cool, but it is, after all, an employee project, not an official Alembic.  Also, the plate between the pickups has me scrathing my head.  Is it original?  The listing says there is a battery in there (just one, not two?).  Is there also a humcanceller?  And, while it is admittedly not clear from the photos, it appears there is no sandwich in the construction, just solid body wings.  If that's the case, I have to wonder how much this beast weighs.  Given all that, I think the price is a little high.

The battery plate would be between the pickups, but I don't think that material is original.  
 
It looks like there is a sandwich, just a 3-piece one. The core might be oak or a similarly light colored wood, but there seems to be a seam there.  
 
I don't know who they talked to here, but it wasn't me or mom. Employee projects don't get logos or serial numbers, and this one's got a logo - mysterious. Of course they get finish! This one looks like an oil finish.  
 
I'd make sure they checked the end of the peghead for a serial number. I don't see the #30 on the plate they refer to, maybe it's inside? Also, getting the number handritten on the circuit board or one of the pots, which will start with 73, might help identify this guy.  
 
Michael's right, these are PF-5 electronics. The humcanceller is usually under the tailpiece in these instruments.

It shouldn't be serial number 30 because I have a bass with that same number from 73.  Notice that there is no brass plate under the pickup selector.  I suspect that the serial number is under 30, if it really had a number.  Being that it is this early, I suspect that it is not an employee project.  Just my opinion though.  
 
I wish it were a bass.
 
Mica - I think the battery cover looks like regualr pick guard material.  It is easy to loose that plate!

It's also my opinion it's under thirty (unless it's the first dup serial) and not likely an employee project, since shop night hadn't been invented yet.
