brown bass on the bay. How good is 4,500 on a bass like that?
-
Seems a bit expensive to me...

Ah. How much do you think a reasonable price would be? They seem relatively rare, and it is a '05. BTW, how much on average do relatively new (10 years of newer) BB's go for?
Here's the link (http://cgi.ebay.com/Alembic-Stanley-Clarke-Brown-Bass_W0QQitemZ270118268091QQihZ017QQcategoryZ4713QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
I *did* do some research and basscentral confirmed selling that bass around june '05 (or did beaver mean '06), but I can't confirm the location.

If your looking for a Brown Bass, you might want to give Bass Central a call. I think you might be surprised at the price of a new one.
-
Guitar Resurrection has a new Brown Bass that's been sitting tagged at $6K for years, and the last used Brown Bass BC had for sale was tagged at $3500, IIRC, and they declined to haggle on that price.
-
Yeh, I talked to Beaver about that: $6,000
soon to be $6,700 once they sell last years models.
-
$3,500 at bass central for a used probably means $4,500 through ebay is too high.
-
Sorry, not so. It's been something like three years since I remember the one at Bass Central. I think $4K is easily fair today, and $4500 wouldn't be bad for mint condition and the right options to suit you.
-
I think this just dropped in price. 4K BIN (was 4.5K, I think).
