Here's an interesting listing on the bay. Jerry's Cripe guitar (http://cgi.ebay.com/CRIPE-LIGHTNING-BOLT-ROSEBUD-JERRY-GARCIA-WOOD-GUITAR_W0QQitemZ280127180040QQihZ018QQcategoryZ2384QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) for a $23,000 starting bid. Not bad, except it's not Jerry's guitar AND it's not even a Cripe! Read carefully. I especially love the part where the seller explains how Cripe's guitar was much nicer than Irwin's because the seller's Cripe COPY is nicer than his Irwin COPY. Seller also talks about how this gives the Jerry sound without the necessity of Jerry's extensive amplification ... just plug it into a Fender and sound like Jerry! (As opposed to Jerry's amp which was a ... Fender!).

.. this top is 9/16 thick. That is a 1/2 and 1/4 put together.

Love the inlay, too. Looks like it was a reject from the mail-order school of inlay and marquetry.

I've seen this guitar before. It was done by Tim and Pat O'Donnell at Resurrection Guitars. As most of you know, my Big Bear is from Resurrection. I can't say enough good things about it, though, as Bradley pointed out, the inlay work doesn't compare to Alembics. However, for the $23,000 asking price, you could have 4 of these made.
