Title: Which kind of wood ?
Post by: manbass7 on November 23, 2010, 11:58:04 PM
Hi

I bought this alembic a few months ago, and I would like to know if the main wood of the body is Mahagony or Walnut ... ?

Hi there,

I'm pretty sure that's mahogany - I used to have an MK sig standard with that wood combination - it's a fairly 'classic' Alembic wood mix.
Assuming the colours in your pictures are fairly accurate, walnut would tend to have less of a red tint to it, more grey/brownish.

Welcome to the club, anyway - lovely looking bass!

I agree with Karl; mahogany, very nice.
