The second one looks like a Fernandes copy too. The shapes are just slightly awkward.

These Ferbic's pictures are  our Japanese club site (http://www8.plala.or.jp/alembic/copy_gallery.html), and own by our members.
(We call Fernandes copy as Ferbic.)
This auction is scammy that I think.

Those pictures were taken from the Japanese club site that Eiji mentioned.  The overall picture was rotated but it is the identical picture as is the other as well.  If Eiji says that it is owned by their member then I would consider this a definite scam.

The bass has been purchased by a German eBay user with the BIN.  http://myworld.ebay.com/ulisalm/ (http://myworld.ebay.com/ulisalm/)
Identified here in the event someone in Germany may know the user.

I found this profile on our forum and have sent Uli a note to see what was being discussed here.

I do not know what portions are valid but wanted him to be made aware.

Hi Sergio. I think what raised some questions was the fact there were two different basses pictured in the add.
This is one of the photos from the add, obviously not the bass above. Although there is a photo of the bass above on the add too.

The one photo at the eBay ad is:
and the one photo from the Japanese Alembic fan club site is:
Note (from the background) that they are the exact same picture where the eBay ad photo is rotated and reduced in size. This tends to raise certain questions. Better safe than sorry for those involved. Glad to see some photos that you have taken of your bass and Uli may feel the same.  (Message edited by artswork99 on October 27, 2007)

Sergio,

Thanks for chiming in on the forum! We all look out for each other around here, and fortunately many club members have photographic memories. If something doesnt jive, it's comforting to know that others are looking out for us.

For what it's worth, none of the pics posted on Ebay are the bass which you just posted on this site.

Hi Sergio,

Welcome to the board.
And thank you for looking our Japanese site Alembic Fan Club.

I pointed out the auction's photo are not your bass.
Our confusion is derived from this point.
Of course, we know Fernandes replica.
If you wrote these pictures are reference that I think.

I apologize for my word Scammy.
But we are carefully looking for real auction.

I wish you and the new owner will be satisfied.

Hi Sergio, welcome to the board.  Many of the members of this club watch Ebay Alembic listings on a daily basis.  We've seen hundreds of fraudulent listings.  Two of the common tells of a fraudulent listings are pictures that have been lifted of another listing or another site, and pictures that do not match the description in the listing.  Your listing has both of these features.  Thus, it is quite understandable that our members would be concerned about the veracity of your listing.  In fact, one of the members posting to this thread has had pictures of his bass lifted and used in fraudulent listings.  Unfortunately, there are many people trying to steal money from honest musicians by selling nonexistent instruments on Ebay.  We see fraudulent listings all the time; that's why we're concerned.  No one here is out to disparage you personally for no good reason.  In the instant case, you chose to use pictures of basses that you don't own instead of pictures of the bass that you are trying to sell.  That's why everyone is so concerned.  You may have good reasons for that decision, but the reasons are not shown on the listing.  So, I do hope you will understand that our concerns are reasonable based on our past experiences.

Sergio, as the original poster, I guess I should say something.. but many have jumped in and let you know what the intentions were.  They are speaking correctly.  Granted, I have a strange personality, so that was the source of the amused quip.. there are many out there who have posted fake sales using photos like this.

Anyways.. glad I was wrong.
