Title: Scam or Real?
Post by: mcdonger on December 30, 2007, 09:39:58 AM
Searching for yet another Alembic, I came across this link, http://usedguitarsales.com/page-1185.html (http://usedguitarsales.com/page-1185.html) I remember previously seeing this bass on the Alembic site. $2,500 seems way too cheap. I asked for additional pictures and I got some shots of a Stanley Clarke bass that look like they were lifted from GGuitars site.

I think that this (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=6051) is the same bass. You might check with the person who purchased it in that thread to see if they are selling. I agree $2500 seems low for a signature.

The name on the email is pekanbaruguitar.  Pekanbaru Guitar is located in Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia.

So, we've got lifted pictures, a description that doesn't quite match the pictures, a price that's significantly lower than what this instrument should trade for, and an email address for a company located in Indonesia.  I'm passing.
