Sad, indeed. Selling the Orion and Buying a Fodera may have been a better idea.

As I've noted on this board before regarding similar situations, this reminds me of the story about Jose Canseco when he played for the Oakland A's.  He spent $70,000 on a brand new Jaguar, then an additional $25,000 modifying it so that it wound up looking like a tricked out Camaro!.
