Here in the Uk there was a terrific televised Ian Dury & the Blockheads concert from 1985 last night on the SKy arts channel.
Norman Watt Roy played his Series 1 throughout - what a tone! Norman is a great player who bought two series 1's in Brazil during the early 80's for peanuts from a dude who was desperate for cash.
It has been muted that one of them is now actually owned by club member Georgie boy

I saw NWR at a Wilko JOhnson concert in a small art college in Darlington a couple of years ago.
White_Cloud..if you go to the 'Riffs'website he has a interest in forming a Ian Dury tribute band.

Cheers Terry. He's a great player...I've been a long time admirer.

NWR is grossly underappreciated. Monster chops, impeccable taste, a killer groover and great tone.
One of my proudest achievements as a player was finally mastering his murderous lick from Hit M With Your Rhythm Stick. It only took 30 years to get it, and I can play it cleanly only on my Alembic.

Looking forward to seeing him on the Wilco Johnson gig here in Edinburgh in March They're supporting the Stranglers so I'll get to see JJ Burnell too.

Here is Norman performing Hit me with your rythm stick - note the use of the Series 1. Enjoy.

Nice. It's a shame when these things are edited by non-musicians and the clips of the fingerboard don't match the music. Enjoyed the link though. Great tune. Thanks.
