Now, what would a best offer be on a beauty like this?

Wow! That's an amazing bass, but I disagree that it should be should be sealed in a tomb of glass and hung on a wall. I think it should be heard.

Looks to be the same bass and seller from this thread (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=13141) in 2005/2006. He was asking 16K then. Price still seems high to me.

Over $500 in shipping & handling charges?  I think not.

He's an optomist.
Either that, or his wife wants him to sell the bass, but he disagrees.

With all the attempted scams recently, I'd be careful.  Other items was a bunch of toys/action figures which makes it look like a hijacked account (although there was no alternate mode of contact as is typical with that type of scam).  But it's always suspicious when payment options are limited.  It does appear to be the same bass from 2006.  The seller posted in this forum at that time, but it was his first of only 4 posts.  If I were interested, it would definetly be a local pick-up.

I'm not sure what to think of a bass like this.  I'd love to have it of course, but I would be afraid to play it.  It's probably like buying an exotic car...the happiest days are the day you bought it and the day you sold it!!!

I've seen these exact pictures a few times over the last couple of years on Ebay. Makes me wonder.

$784.06 to have it shipped to me...ouch! I always have enjoyed the pic of someone holding the bass backed by the crappy fake green turf at a seedy motel or apartment building though.

In the previous thread that Keith cited, the seller posted that it's an '89.
