This is up on eBay:
http://tinyurl.com/mz6kmd (http://tinyurl.com/mz6kmd)
starting bid is $310. This bass has been treat badly, even though it is in some ways in surprisingly good condition. The case looks like it was pried open. Wondering if this bass was once stolen...
-
It does look to be in pretty good condition. Anybody have any suggestions for removing the ink marks without damaging the finish?
The case doesn't look original, and may have suffered its damage previous to this bass. There is no left handed '98 Epic listed on the stolen list.
The headstock appears to be crammed up against the end of the case. When boxed for shipping, that end of the outside of the case should be well protected to prevent damage.

Hi Guys,
Good thing I'm not looking for a four string. ;)
Anyway, on a related note.
I just 'dotted' a wooden business card holder, (with an unknown shiney finish), with a sharpie marking pen. After drying I applied some isopropyl alcohol and rubbed gently. The alcohol removed the dot with no apparent damage to the finish. Too many variables though for this to be conclusive with the 'fret markers' on the bass. YMMV etc, etc.
Best Regards,
Kimberly

Thanks for running the test Kimberly! Hey, the current bid is only $305!

I don't like much the Epic bass, but the price makes it pretty interesting.

From $565.02 to $1,314.89 in the last 20 second.
For a while there, I thought it really might go cheap.

Well, I believe Alembic basses are not made to be cheap.
