Nice bass, not really a Series II though. Has a C in the serial number, which makes it a Custom. Hope any buyer doesn't think they are getting a Series II.

Since it is a custom , how much is it worth ? Could it be a custom made from a series II ?

As to whether it's a Series II, well the single coils and CVQs confirm that, though they're clearly customized with the blend pot. Woodwise, there's no back laminate, but it does have three purpleheart neck laminates.
 
So in our ever popular game of Name That Alembic! this should probably be termed a Signature-Standard-with-deluxe-purpleheart-neck-laminates-and-customized-Series-II-electronics.
 
The electronics are probably the biggest factor in what people are prepared to pay for it.
 
And for the record, this one has sold. I wonder if the new owner is one of us?

Again , I had to put my  bidding&buying monster on a short leash!
However I was able to resist. This Bass must be a solo monster, very cool.

This is the bass I was hoping to trade for.  I spoke with the seller about the body construction and I am confident that there was no deception intended.  Hopefully it won't be a major issue to the new owner (unless it's one of us, they may not ever be aware of the discrepancy).  
 
The difference between a Clarke Standard with 3 PH neck lams/SII electronics and a full-on SII is $4,500 (on the quote generator).  LEDs (which this bass did not have) would account for about $1,200 on the SII; therefore, the difference in body construction accounts for about $3,300.  Those prices are for new construction, so it's hard to say what a fair depreciation would be in the used market.  The bass sold for SII money, but it looked like a really nice instrument and I wish I could have nabbed it!!!
