very interesting '76 Series I small body @ Bass NW (http://www.bassnw.com/Used%20Basses/alembic_1976_series_i_4_st_series_II_electronics.htm target=_blank)
WOW!!! Interesting nut, tailpiece, logo - strange knobs where the Q switches would be - knobby headstock - cool graphic where the pickup selector switch would normally be - I'm in love!

That's the kind of bass I'm looking for. I'm looking for a small body short or medium scale bass in zebra wood. It's got a lot of plusses for me. Series II electronics(I guess), interesting logo, scalloped nut, LED's, interesting core, tailpiece, etc.
BUT that pickup selector has been moved. That switch located among the controls is my least favorite place for it. I'm so used to it being in the traditional spot!! Yes it could be moved back, but there will be a lovely hole for me to look at.
Anyone know more about this bass? I'm tempted. If it were not for that selector switch......

Nick,
Nice to meet you-- I'm assuming that was you picking up the bass at BassNW with your bandmates.
Bradley

You too, Bradley. It was me. What was left of me, after that car ride. It reminded me of that scene in Up in Smoke, when all you can see is blue smoke rolling out of the windows. WOW! By the way, the guy in the flashy clothes was Terrence Wooten. Can you see the resemblence?

I wasn't going to say anything about the hempen smell... are you going to eat that?
Bradley
-
The smell? Hell, man, did you see my eyes?! I was afraid to take my sunglasses off!
Nick
-
Lol.

Nick,
Just for future reference, I've never seen anybody get hassled for indulging, including the guy who smokes it up most mornings in front of the Starbucks 1 block away. With cops directing traffic in the intersection.

No worries! The NW is wonderful for that reason. We all had a good laugh about that trip. It was fun. I am enjoying this bass very much. Had a long talk with Will Gunn. BTW, the case is original! The only thing missing since Will sold it, was a cable for the quarter inch that split signal for the amps he ran at the time.
We will have to stop in next time we are up there and hang out a little more. I have not been traveling much due to school and family.
Great story, most cops in these parts, just don't care. And compared to most other things, weed is good. And good for you!

Yeah, standing invite for anyone: I work 200 feet down the street from BassNW, and would love to get together and talk bass.
The email in my profile is current, hit me up if you're in the neighborhood.
