Looks like some Ampex unit on steroids...
Bear Crossover -ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Genuine-Grateful-Dead-PA-crossover-by-BEAR-Stanley-Owsley-Garcia-GDP-NR-/251119327983?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a77e0daef#ht_500wt_1289 target=_blank)

Nice, but pricey.
-
Why do people say 'No reserve' then have a starting price? Seems a bit of a contradiction to me.

Often, the reserve price will be higher than the opening bid price. I guess it's an attempt to get the ball rolling. An old auctioneer's trick, I suppose.

I showed this to my mom and dad. They remember the components (the Alltec crossovers etc.) being Bear's but it sure looks like something they made in the warehouse. There's a lot of little giveaways that makes me think this was made by my dad (I know his soldering and dressing style well), but this would have been made before we kept detailed records.
Cool to see this stuff!

p.s. - Can I get a panel with just those knobs on it? I want to create a steampunk bass amp. !
