here's a beauty that looks willing to be Alembicized or in your Grateful Dead tribute band or heck, even both! ;)

$3,107.77! Yikes! I've got a '67 (Sunburst) sitting around with some unfortunate headstock damage and figured it was unsellable, but I think I'll gave to put it up there and see what happens. It plays fine (and has the most beautifully figured rosewood fingerboard), it's just a shame about the headstock. Time to cash in?

Edwin , Perhaps you can have the headstock issue dealt with in a creative manor such as multiple laminations Alembic style. My remaining  one has a lamination on the backside of the headstock.

There's a local guy who offered to repair and rebuild the headstock to almost new looking with laminations and graphite. The cost estimate was about $1k. Too rich for my blood. Given this guy's work, it could be really cool, but I'm thinking it might be better to sell and have the buyer do the repairs. Also, if I fix it, it might be too tempting to keep it and play it! It's got a pretty cool zing to it, a very lively bass.

Wow I thought these things sold between $1800-2000! That's insane!

And Edwin, if you're just gonna let it sit around then you can send it to me and I'll pay shipping ;)

I hope there are more Starfire buyers like that out there as i have a few extras too! Upright lessons are costly and while on my honeymoon i developed an expensive hobby/habbit....skydiving. ;-)

it's back on there, looks like someone failed to mention a headstock crack and the buyer wasn't too happy, certainly not going sell for as much as it originally did
