Title: My Nomination for Most Beat Up Bass
Post by: lbpesq on May 16, 2013, 09:41:40 AM
These were nice basses, but boy is  this one (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Daion-Power-Mark-X-B-Bass-Guitar-Japan-Made-Matsumoku-Factory-UEB7-/350795985944?pt=Guitar&hash=item51ad11f418)  beat up!

Bill, tgo

P.S.  Contrary to the listing, Daions were made in the Yamaki factory, not Matsumoku.

Wow! A small world of music stores... Dubuque was my old stomping ground in High School, college days and beyond...

Man the hits just keep on coming to this poor bass.  Just when i thought it was bad, lo, another pic, and it's worse!

Have you ever seen Serial #12 in person? Now that'a bass that has been around the block a few times.  Keavin was kind enough to bring it to the Chicago gathering in '11 and let everyone play it. It may have lots of scars but it sounds and plays beautiful!!
If that bass could talk, it would tell some great stories...  I forget how many time the headstock has broken off, but Keavin is an expert at gluing it back on now.
#12 is the true definition of mojo in an instrument.
