This looks to have a custom pre amp board?

The board looks ok to me.  The nut, on the other hand, doesn't look original.

The By the same seller has this link (http://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-Fender-Stratocaster-The-Strat-Candy-Apple-Red-Fullerton-USA/151077544323?_trksid=p2047675.m1985&_trkparms=aid%3D444000%26algo%3DSOI.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D13%26meid%3D346023607357861888%26pid%3D100012%26prg%3D1014%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D181167803221%26#ht_52175wt_2054) to a Strat that the listing says has the finish played through.  Am I the only one who thinks it's pretty darn obvious it was attacked with a heat gun?  And what's wrong with people, anyway?

Well, if you played the Strat 36 hours a day, with sandpaper strapped to your forearm, for about 7 years, you wouldn't need a heat gun.  Maybe that is the answer.  Ha!

Looks to me that this was a victim of sand blasting using a grit the size of small pebbles. Very strange wear pattern with finish removed in some peculiar places.

It was the bubbled & charred paint that first caught my eye.

WOW that is some kinda custom Strat paint treatment... maybe the former owner liked acid rock?
I thought the circuit board with dan in red was odd based on my only referance being my bass. I see there are others with dan like his other Alembic listng: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-Alembic-Series-1-Omega-6-String-Guitar-w-DS5-Power-Supply-55-HD-Images-/181177485849?pt=Guitar&hash=item2a2f050a19#ht_68284wt_1094 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-Alembic-Series-1-Omega-6-String-Guitar-w-DS5-Power-Supply-55-HD-Images-/181177485849?pt=Guitar&hash=item2a2f050a19#ht_68284wt_1094)

This one does have a lot of extra lams parallel to the neck wood. and there is a new transistor on the board. Anyone else with an early series instument have the serial number on one side of the crown head like this?
