This guitar is made from the same board as my SII. I wonder what the serial # is?
-
The serial number of this guitar is 75'-213 in my archives.
Our club (of Japan) member owned it.
The picture is here. (http://www8.plala.or.jp/alembic/gallery_tanakarin.html)
At 1975 to 1976, nice grained zebrawood top were appeared.
I love such wood so much !
But I have never seen it in later years.

the listing says 75 213 also.
listing also says the case is black, weren't they all blue at this time?
-
My 75-215 S1 Bass has it on its back. Same colorization in the aging process.
-
My series I bass 76 262 has a similar Zebra wood also. I wonder how many instruments came from this tree?
-
What happens if you scan the wood grain and turn the pattern into sound waves?
-
You'll hear School Days played in reverse

A Beautiful guitar. I had a '77 series 1 zebra guitar that look a lot like that except mine had a vermillion fingerboard. Wish I still had that one.

I think this one may have made it back to the factory at some point~ it would explain the case, truss rod cover.... Perhaps a refinish?!?
