I always loved Hyak basses.  I played one at the Guitar Center in Seattle back in the late seventies?  I have no sense of time in my past.  Great bass.  Shame I am too old to really play even my Alembics much these days.  In fact, one will be hitting the block soon.  Looks like a wonderful example of a Hyak.  May the funds be with you, whatever your reason for selling is, and whoever the seller may be . . .

I played a Michael Dolan (if I remember the name right) a couple months ago that was real a sweet bass that was for sale. I had an Oasis for a couple of years that was a cool bass, real 70s looking and 60s sounding. Still wanting to play a Bekvar. I also played a Toucan a few years ago that was very nice and very rare. I still want to try one of the Fernandes high end copies and see what they are like.

All owed a lot to the Alembic design.(http://club.alembicguitars.com/Images/395/182862.jpg)

That Bass has an interesting tail piece, fine tuners and all .
