Has anyone looked at this? It seems way too good to be true if it's real. Listing indicates that it's a reproduction but: (a) it sure looks real down to the Alembic logo on the headstock; and (b) if it's not really an Alembic can people get away with making something this close to the original?

I posted this a few weeks ago , here is the thread ;

Maybe the person means restored or refurbished not reproduction?

I sent an email off to the seller with a couple questions.
-
Did anyone ever get a response from the seller on this one (I never did). The craigslist avert. still seems to be up.
-
I did back around New Year's Day. I asked about the blue box and LEDs and he said he had a custom dual rack-mount power supply and there were no LEDs. I am a long hour away from the seller if anyone wants a local agent for a purchase (for a little gas money, anyway). I expect that it is an actual Alembic, but didn't ask him about that level of detail. If it isn't original, someone did an amazing job of duplicating the appearance.
With the ATA case and the rack-mount power supply, this won't be cheap to ship.

I saw the ad this morning and posted my question but now it's gone. I've got most of my family living out that way and was thinking of checking it out when I head out there in two weeks. You wouldn't still happen to have have any contact information from the seller would you?

Thanks

I could be wrong but it only has one rod as opposed to the standard 2 they adopted in the early '80s (I think). Plus, look at the nut close up, notice anything? Unless it's a replacement, it's not a good sign. I would say it's indeed a good reproduction.

That adjustable nut and logo look pretty real. Wish it was near me so I could look at it.

I find awkward that the string falls right on top of the hole, but it could be that it was not unusual back then...
