Title: F-1X Question

I've been using my F-1X with satisfaction for nearly 2 years and have always plugged into jack #1.
 
Now, I understand jack #2 is supposed to provide 6dB attenuation. When I plug into it, am I supposed to hear the level drop, like a standard pad? I do not hear a change in level. Is there an issue with my unit?

If you play some through input 1, and then unplug from input 1 and plug into input 2, and continue playing, you should notice a difference.  When both inputs are used at the same time, the inputs sum, and the impedances are the same.
