I like the missing screws from pickup comment. Just shows how little the auctioneer knows about the bass they are selling.

keith, I was thinking the same when I read the missing screws part .

I thought the same. I get emails from this auction house, and they have some nice stuff, but I haven't bought from it - so not recommending the house, just the bass. I laughed at the screws comment as well. Thanks for pointing out the issues with the auction though. Always good to be warned, and careful.

I laughed at the comment about the missing screws as well. As for the terms of the auction, thanks for noting that. I get emails from this auction house, because I signed up a couple of years back when they were auctioning off Gram Parsons' acoustic guitar and I needed to sign up to read more about the guitar. I just lurk - never bought.

They have Jack Bruce's 1970 Gibson EB-3 (http://entertainment.ha.com/itm/musical-instruments/bass-guitars/jack-bruce-s-circa-1970-gibson-eb-3-cherry-electric-bass-guitar-and-effects-pedals-serial-852156/a/7127-85156.s?ic3=ViewItem-Auction-Open-BrowseThisAuction-120115) with the convenient pre-broken headstock feature so beloved by Gibson's accountants.
-
Ha! I see they have it listed as in fair condition. Makes me wonder what it would take to be listed as poor condition!

The buyer's premium seems to be 25%. Pretty hefty.

That would have made Gram's guitar a mere $27,500.00...pass.
