Dave,
Yes this is the new band. They were already gigging.
Three more rehearsals and 30 or so songs left for me to learn. :-o
Chuck,
We are going to be there Saturday night Feb 10th.

Are the songs that you're learning things that you are already familiar with?
-
The band plays a pretty wide variety of stuff from Classic/Southern/Country rock (my era) to R&B to Pop. Out of the 50 or so songs the song list I have about 20 down. Of the 30 left I know 1/3 of them but they are different arrangements and usually in a different key. The rest are new although I have heard some on the radio. Very few are really hard it's just overcoming my 30 years of doing a song one way for the groups way. The old synapses don't always fire in right sequence sometimes if you know what I mean. :-) I spend about an hour a day on learning and figure if I get 10 or so a week I should be in good shape.

There has been a change of venue. We will not be playing Twisters this Saturday. The gig is being rescheduled for a later date.
Instead we will be playing The Dugout in Roxboro, NC.

Keith.
Have you rescheduled in this area

Chuck,
I've been out of town and replied to your e-mail this morning. However there will be no Twisters gig in the foreseeable future. My last gig with the group is this Friday.

I suggest you overplay and dominate the stage and unleash everything that you may have in reserve!
-
Danno,
Not a bad idea just take to eleven, eh.
The leader doesn't seem to want to learn the material we've been doing since January and either sits on one chord or fakes it. I therefore end up playing lots of chords and/or notes to fill the gaps with the lead guitar. Friday's show is a smaller place but I am toying with taking the full rig of 2 - 18's and 2 - 2x10's. Anyways now you know one of the reasons I'm leaving.

Keith.
I ventured to Oxford today just 9 miles down the road to check out Oxford Bar and grill just to see if I would go there after dark or with my bullet proof vest.I was very suprised at what I saw.
This is a nice club, clean, good food to.Not typical of this area. This is a big room, large dance floor.Yes bring your big rig,you will need it.
The owners are giving this a lot of publicity.
I will most likely be there about 7:30 for dinner.
Chuck.

Chuck; if you're so inclined, post a review! I guess it's too late to suggest taking a camera.

Ok.Dave
This is a very good band. They played a good assortment of classic rock, finishing off the first set{almost an hour}with Dark Side one of my favorites. For those that don't know this was from Eddie and the Cruisers.
Had a nice chat with Keith and was allowed to fondel his brown bass
I had to leave after the first set, wish I could have stayed.
Keith is a outstanding bass player and nailed every note.
Chuck
P.S. The Embers are appearing at a street festivel
here in henderson Apr.19,5:30 till 8:30. Its free.
