I put TI Flats on my Essence 4 short scale or my MK sinature STD. Balance K Omega body 5 string?
-
At the least, you'll probably need to adjust the intonation on the bridge, but if more than that is needed, it's not all that complicated - feel free to call, and I'll be happy to walk you through it.

Hey Will,
Actually, I like the strings on the Essence that it came with. I was thinking the low B on the MK Sig. Std. was floppy and that flat rounds with increased tension would be better.

TI Jazz Flats (http://www.thomastik-infeld.com/guitars/index.html target=_blank) are pretty low guage, low tension strings - the B is .118, at 27.55 lbs. I love the 4 string set for fretless, they're very responsive.
At the other end of the tension spectrum, there's d'Addario Chromes (http://store.daddario.com/category/145857/ECB81-5SL_Set_Super_Long_Scale_5-String_45-132 target=_blank) - the B is .138 at 40.2 lbs. Never played these myself, but quite a number of members here use them.

... or actually those are the numbers for the TI Jazz Rounds. The Jazz Flat low B is a tad beefier at .136 and 34.83 lbs.
-
Thanx for the info Adrianne.

The TI's are the loosest strings I've ever played.. The truss rods will definitely need some tweaking..
