Title: What I did last weekend
Post by: george_wright on August 07, 2008, 10:33:35 AM
Yeah, I know it's not a an Alembic gig, but....  It was quite a gig nevertheless.  My band played a wedding at the Bush compound in Kennebunkport.  (The groom is G.W. Bush's nephew.)

It was a one-night stand, with a eight/nine-hour bus-ride at each end and a lot of Secret Service hurry-up-and-wait in the middle.  Fortunately, I'm ex-Navy, so I could sleep on the bus and hurry-up-and-wait with the best of them.

Some pictures are  here (http://picasaweb.google.com/AndreaFine/Maine2008?authkey=0P2yj5TFQS0 target=_blank).  I'm the guy behind the baritone sax.

Cool photos- looks like a memorable evening. My brother-in-law and another one of my friends are both Secret Service agents currently on the Presidential detail.  They both have wonderful things to say about how the Bush family treats the agents and the rest of the people they come into contact with.
