Thanks to my band-mate Dave, who is much more
tech-savvy than me, an old video of one of my
still current bands. No good views of the front
but the headstock is unmistakable, as is the
tone.

Wow - that was cool! I think my band played at the Campus Club a few times around the same time, maybe a couple of years later.
Were you using flat wounds in that clip? Nice fat but clear sound!!!

Harry,
If I remember correctly, those were round
wounds, I was getting a good deal on Ken Smith
Rockmaster strings from a friend that owned
a music store back in the day. I still prefer
Alembics though. I tried flats on the Series,
I didn't really care for the sound. I have flats
on my Epic and love the sound with those
electronics. Very Phil-like from the
Guild-Alembic days.
Were you there with Jiggle the Handle? The name
seems to be in the fog-bank that is my memory.
Glad you like the sound.

Yeah, it would have been Jiggle the Handle - my memory of those days is definitely fogged out! I never got to play at the original Living Room (though I saw some bands there), I remember playing somewhere around the corner from Lupo's, I managed to play at Lupo's once filling in on bass for Max Creek, but I can't remember the Campus Club for the life of me! I was living near Boston, so I wasn't too aware of the scene down there - you guys seem to have played a lot - did you play outside of Providence much?
I'm sorry I'm on memory lane here, after you mentioned the Campus Club, someone else on Facebook posted an old pic of me from the Middle East, so it's nostalgia time for me!
Whatever strings you used in that clip, it sounds great!

H,
We were lucky enough to play all over New Englend for about 8 years. We played a few clubs around Boston back then, Bunratty's, Jonathan Swifts, the Paradise, and a lot of schools. The band is still playing, but, very local.
Dave, thanks for the kindness, very nice new bass you now have.
